WIRED Germany

I was commisioned to create four digital portraits for April ‘12 issue of Wired Germany. This is only second issue of Wired in Germany and it’s printed in more than 100,000 copies! Portraits are done for cover story, in a grayscale, similar to De Niro portraits.

Playoffs

It’s weird that it took me more than a year to post first basketball related illustrations, hopefully they’ll appear more often. But since the playoffs are on their way  timing is perfect. Check out couple of quick sketches I did while experimenting with Intuos. KB, Derrick and Tony:

Myself

This collage of self portraits is result of all the hours spent in front of the mirror and experiments with different approaches and mediums (mostly pencil, pen, aquarel, charcoal or acrylics).

Much better viewed in high resolution.

*This is just a part of the self portrait collection!

Hair Knot

This could be way better, but I haven’t posted in a while so there you go. This is a croped illustration — only part that I don’t completely hate. Done with black pen on Kraft paper.

I’m currently in the middle of couple commissions (digital artworks), so stay tuned!

Click on images for hires. Few latest quick self portaits in moleskine. Trying to make most of bad brush.

Farewell

More details than usual in couple of scaned moleskine spreads. This is the farewell drawing to my old sneakers, yesterday was the last time I wore them:

OpenSkies Magazine

OpenSkies Magazine is the inflight magazine for Emirates. They asked me to do two digital portraits of Robert De Niro for January issue, including cover illustration. With over 2.3 million passangers a month flying on Emirates it was a fun job to do. Issue is about movies, and UK’s best film critic talks about Robert De Niro. So if you fly with Emirates this month be sure to take a look in front of your seat! Or you can read it online.

I was asked to do similar portraits to Philip Glass portrait.

Started black moleskine. B and 3B pencil. Click for hi-res scan of this chaos.

Fin

Red sketchbook is completed. Take a look inside! Black moleskine comes next.

Four Blackness

Just did this small self portrait. 4B pencil in Moleskine. I’m not sure whether I like it or not. It should be rougher.
